Database Design Administrator

Position Overview:
The Software Engineering Division of Carousel Industries is responsible for high profile, mission critical software development. Software Engineering focuses on standards compliance and high-reliability software development. Members will be responsible for various programming and design activities in a team environment. In addition to development tasks, team members are expected to collaborate with each other throughout the software development lifecycle.
A Database Design Administrator is expected to make significant contributions to the database architecture for projects, research new technologies relevant to projects, develop stored procedures while working closely with programmers, and manage database optimizations and other relevant tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Designing, implementing and optimizing databases
- Standards Compliant Database Design and Architecture
- Assist in testing and quality assurance (QA)
- Performance tuning and balancing
- Support, maintain and document databases
- Integrate various databases
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- General
- 3+ Years Experience in DBA or relevant field
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally
- Ability to synthesize and document requirements
- Excellent database design, scripting, and testing skills
- Technical
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with Stored Procedures, Triggers and Extended Stored Procedures
- Experience with database design standards and normalization
- Microsoft Certification preferred
