Location: New England and NYC

Job Description:

The Data Engineer is pre-sales focused and responsible for supporting multiple Enterprise accounts. This person will work closely with multiple account managers to position and sell Carousel's entire data product portfolio.

As part of the sales team the System Engineer's primary responsibility is to help drive revenue and positively impact the business. The Engineer’s measure of success includes self development, revenue impact, team integration and customer satisfaction. The candidate should have a solid understanding on the industry and competitors. Responsibilities will include first meetings, demonstration/presentations, evaluations and proof of concepts.

Travel is a requirement and will vary depending on the regional requirements.

The expectation of a Presales Data Engineer is someone with strong business acumen, technical depth and communication skills. The Presales Engineer is part of the whole sales cycle from the first meeting to the purchase order. This engineer needs to conduct first meetings where we qualify the opportunity, determine a technical fit and present a solution. The Presales Engineer handles all competitive information and is responsible for the design (architecture), implementation scope of work and bill of materials. As the sales cycle progresses this person is responsible for handling demonstrations, proof of concepts and onsite evaluations. This means the engineer has to be able to configure equipment, handle integration and troubleshooting.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• 4 years of presales, enterprise Systems Engineering experience with a focus on infrastructure and security.
• Strong business acumen, communication skills , technical knowledge and experience.
• The SE candidate must have experience with TCP/IP, IPSEC, switching, routing, firewalls SSL remote access, and wireless.
• Experience with VRRP, LAG, MC-LAG, OSPF, BGP, multicast, and VRRP.
• Experience with server load balancing, IDP, 802.1X NAC, JUNOS, SIP.
• Preferred vendors: Juniper, Cisco, HP, Extreme, Nortel, Enterasys, Force10, F5, Meru, Aruba, Checkpoint, Fortinet and Palo Alto.
