Program Manager – PMP certification and AVAYA expertise

Location: Nationwide

Responsibilities:

  • The Carousel Program Manager represents Carousel as a strategic communications and integration partner for Carousel’s customers.
  •  The Carousel Program Manager typically will be assigned to support Carousel’s largest, most strategic customers. In general, the position is responsible for ensuring customer needs are satisfied through providing specific deliverables. Oversees the overall program/project plan, budget, schedule, Project Management Office (PMO) and staffing requirements.
  • Ensures the quality of activities and deliverables of Carousel associates, business partner, and customer and third-party vendors.
  • The job may oversee technical development and is instrumental in the overall planning and selling of related support services.
  • Often works with management consultants or client principals in the latter stages of strategic planning and design efforts to ensure solution quality and facilitate an orderly hand-off to the services delivery team. Also oversees the handoff to Support Services (maintenance) upon project completion.
  • The scope of programs managed is typically sufficient to impact the customer's market position and long-term business strategy. Work is performed with minimal direction and reviewed by senior management.
  • Anticipates and identifies complex business needs and recommends solutions to complex problems.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work related experience
  • 7 - 10 years in large/complex Project or Program Management support in the telecommunications, messaging, computer or networking industries and/or related technology segments
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large, complex programs/projects, including financial responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams of technical professionals in a highly matrixed environment
  • Knowledge of established, industry standard project management methodologies (PMI, ITIL). Ability to apply the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) as the foundation for professional project management structure, process, disciplines, tools and deliverables in support of implementing strategic customer programs/projects
  • Proven leadership abilities, including ability to communicate with C-level executives
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, business partners and Carousel associates
  • Strong written and verbal business communications skills, including large-group presentations
  • Expert-level skills in MS Project and MS Excel
  • Understanding of general accounting principles and management of project financials
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI
