Michael Petracca joins Carousel Industries from Avaya
Exeter, Rhode Island, April 23, 2009 — Michael Petracca has joined Carousel Industries as the Director of Visual Communications. Michael is responsible for building the visual communications practice for the company. Michael will also be providing Unified Communications presales consulting support for Carousel. Visual communications technologies include Video Conferencing, Video Telephony and Audio Video room integrations. All of these technologies will enhance and supplement the Carousel Unified Communications portfolio offering customers a more comprehensive solution set. “Carousel’s commitment to have the top technical talent for our customers is key to helping them understand how technology can solve their business problems. “Having Petracca will be a nice addition to a very strong technical team,” said Carousel Senior Vice President, James R. Michael comes to Carousel from Avaya where he was a Unified Communications Consulting Systems Engineer supporting the western region. He was also the subject matter expert for Avaya Video Telephony in the region and was a resource for the Avaya Video Telephony product team. As a resource for the video product team, Michael supported many industry trade shows and conferences such as VoiceCon, InAAU, InterOp, Polycom User Group, as well as many regional seminars. Michael joined Avaya in 2006 as a pre-sales systems engineer supporting the southwest territory and named accounts such as Sempra Energy, Invitrogen, and Qualcomm. In May of 2008, he moved into the Unified Communications applications consulting team.
Michael brings over 25 years experience in the telecommunications industry having worked for 3COM, Alcatel, Expanets, and Nexus Integrated Solutions in many capacities including sales engineering, account management, and channel management. Michael has an extensive background in all aspects of the industry from cabling infrastructure to PBX, voicemail, contact center, and data networking design, installation and maintenance. He has experience with NEC, Cisco, Alcatel, 3COM NBX, Octel, and ActiveVoice products. Michael worked as a Senior Design Sales Consultant for an Audio/Video integration company in southern California delivering enterprise class visual communications designs and solutions. These solutions included converged and integrated conferencing and collaboration technologies for distance learning, broadcast media, and video conferencing.
