CBS Super Bowl XLIV - Day 13
February 01, 2010
It has been a torrential downpour since about 5:00 AM today. That did not stop the stadium crews from pulling down and removing all of the Pro Bowl banners and markings. The groundskeepers had removed all of the turf from one of the end-zone’s by 7:00 AM.
We have 6-inches of water around the CBS trailer compound. We lost power twice. Way back towards the “punt, kick and run” NFL field it looks like a lake.
Our guys have been relentless. Each of them is soaking wet. We have gotten a lot of critical “Game and Pre-Game” truck work done, and some inside work when possible. We need a lot more work done outside. The weather seems to be letting up now, so it will be a late night for these fellows.
“People that Matter”
Did you ever wonder how you get to see the regional commercial, specific to your area during the Super Bowl? How does the gal in Memphis get her local muffler shop and the fellow in Santa Monica get his? It is called “broadcast distribution”. At this year’s Super Bowl, Jeff McBride and his team are the fellows that push all the buttons to make sure we each watch the commercial specific to our area of the country. With over 140-million people expected to watch the Super Bowl this year, Jeff’s job has serious impact to CBS’ ad revenue.
Stay tuned, the pictures get better!
