CBS Super Bowl XLIV - Day 2
January 21, 2010
We ran another (100) voice and data cables today for the 2nd most critical locations. We programmed (181) stations out of the (350) anticipated in the switch (completely redundant, with enough UPS to support voice and data through an 8-hour Super Bowl game).
Tonight, we are pulling an “all nighter” to get (100) data cables pulled, labeled and tested for 10:00 AM, 01-22. Most of these cables have to do with broadcast functions that do not necessarily have a voice grade connection.
The “cable bridge” (the structure connecting the compound to the stadium) is now complete.
No question the next 3-days will be the most challenging. We have to start the “Production Hotel”, and the CBS Early Show on South Beach. Both are survivable, redundant LSPs off the host switch at the CBS Compound. Even though, South Beach sounds fun, the sand, the wind, and the ocean become extreme adversaries to our installation. While all of this is going on, we will turn-up and test (8) T1 at the CBS Compound
Stay tuned, the pictures get better!
