This week, meet Kirsten Weschler-DeSousa, executive assistant for a year and a half. We sat down with her to learn about her favorite technology and the best advice she’s received.

What do you consider the best invention/technology?
Unified communications. These tools save so much time—from simply streamlining expenses or organizing an internal or external meeting with collaborative apps.
How do you keep a healthy work/life balance?
I stay organized and anticipate potential tasks. I also try to avoid being over-stressed or overwhelmed; I remove myself to take a breath and briefly engage with co-workers, which usually ends up in laughter.
What are your top 3 life highlights?
1. The opportunity to work overseas for almost a decade in Australasia and South East Asia. 2. Traveling to Burma, during a window of peace in Myanmar. Beautiful country and people. 3. The day I finally felt comfortable in my own skin.
What is most exciting about being a #CarouselCrew member?
The energy and excitement! Everyone is passionately working toward becoming the best team/company in our ever-growing market. Because we’re expanding so rapidly, Carousel is an intense environment—the pace is lightning fast, but it also increases camaraderie among the employees. It’s kind of a corporate “Tough Mudder”.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Know your limitations, but don’t underestimate your potential abilities.
