What do you consider the best technology?
Cloud technology is incredible. Being a web developer, I benefit greatly from being able to collaborate and share documents or files with colleagues.
Sliwa Family: Mitch, Alexandra, Lilly,
Rafael and Rose.
How do you keep a healthy work/life balance?
It is always very challenging, but I like to take random staycations or days off to recoup and enjoy time with my family. More importantly, I try to remain focused and productive during the day by completely ignoring the world and my family. I put on headphones, hide in my office upstairs away from everyone, and crush work. Because I work from home and my family can find me easily, we had to make some pretty strong boundaries to keep everyone honest. Daddy is off limits during the day, but once I finish for the day, I am present and 100% available for conversation and I try to put my phone away and ignore work unless an emergency happens. It really comes down to having a strong sense of boundaries and continuing to reinforce and fight for them.
What are your top 3 life highlights?
- Getting married 2. Buying a house 3. My 3 children
What is most exciting about being a #CarouselCrew member?
I love Carousel because of our focus on being ahead of the technology curve and planning for the future.
What motto or quote do you live by?
Work smarter, not harder. I am an engineer at heart and love to figure out how to optimize everything I touch. Even in training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, its very important to be smart, use technique, and avoid wasting energy with pointless movement. There is such a thing as good busy, and bad busy. I don’t want to just be busy, but productive and moving the ball forward.
