Director, Content & Communications | Carousel
Get to know us! At Carousel, we’re more than 1,300 #CarouselCrew members strong, spanning 27 locations across the country. Each month, we’re excited to share a glimpse of our talented team members.
This week, meet Steve “Augie” Augustine, Inside Sales Team Manager, and #CarouselCrew member for 10 years! Residing in Meriden, CT, he works out of the Windsor, CT office and here, shares some of his sentiments about his decade-long career at Carousel.
If you could choose one word to describe the Carousel culture, what would it be, and why?
I know this is a phrase and not a single word, but this is the first thing that came to mind and it is spot on. The phrase is “Get it done”. No matter who the person is here at Carousel they have a “get it done” mentality. No matter what the challenge is in front of them they will accomplish it. We are all in on this philosophy and it show in what we can accomplish for our clients.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Carousel?
My favorite part of my role here is working with my inside reps. With our unique sales training program, we help them go from a fresh college graduate knowing little about technology/sales to a seasoned account executive that works daily to solve complex IT challenges for clients. Personally, it is very rewarding to me watching them succeed and enjoy significant career growth in an abbreviated period of time.
Where is your favorite place in the world? Why?
My favorite place is the Riviera Mia, Mexico, where my wife and I got engaged. We love the friendly people, spirited culture, food, and history, as well as the natural beauty of the beaches.
What would a “perfect” day look like for you?
My perfect day would consist of cruising the back roads of New England in my ’71 Camaro with my wife on a beautiful October day with windows down, the music up, just forgetting the stresses of life.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
“Don’t turn your hobby into your job.” My grandfather gave me that advice when I wanted to withdraw college to become a mechanic because I am a certified “gear head”. Thanks to that wise advice, I continued with college and landed my dream career here at Carousel.
