Experience was everything at last week’s Avaya ENGAGE 2017, which draws more than 2,000 Avaya users, speakers and leadership together each year. Held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the event is comprised of content and speakers from the Avaya user community to learn, network and engage with some of the most prolific minds in the Avaya space about hot topics like BYOD, cloud, mobility, networking, security and collaboration tools, among others.

As a diamond level Avaya Edge Partner, the Carousel team was powered up to give event attendees the ultimate experience through our GAME ON booth. Comprised of 12 video screens showcasing Carousel solutions and services, an interactive PlayStation Virtual Reality theater and an intimate 1:1 section devoted to meeting with attendees, booth visitors were able to interactively learn how our expertise brings clarity and confidence to their own IT decision-making.

The event kicked off Sunday with three Carousel team members speaking to a captivated audience. First up was Rick Houlihan, VP, Cloud Solutions, who spoke about how to move a phone system to the cloud with little business interruption. Later that afternoon, Donald Jones, Provisioning Manager, and James Middleton, Sr. Mgr. of Solution Architecture, talked to attendees about enabling security and mobility—an often complex scenario.

Throughout the event, several key Avaya announcements were made, including:

  • Assignment of a new Worldwide Channel Chief Walter Denk who is “tasked with creating and executing Avaya’s partner strategy, architecture and policy management under its new Edge Channel program, and lead revenue growth within the channel,” according to an article in Computer Dealer News.
  • Reassurance that Avaya’s growth has “never looked better”, according to an opening keynote at the event by Avaya President and CEO Kevin Kennedy. Avaya leadership did well in opening up the conversation, squashing any speculation and relaying what the future has in store for the company and its clients.
  • Portfolio announcements, including information on Surge, an SDN-based solution that helps automate, secure and manage IoT devices, collaboration tool Zang Spaces, and the modern, cloud-based phone service Zang Offices.

To top off a successful event, Carousel guests were treated to a celebration the last evening of the event at Topgolf— a multi-level entertainment venue with interactive golf games. To view the album of pictures from the event, please click here.

Avaya Engage is always a whirlwind event—busy, engaging and entertaining—with so many opportunities to showcase our talent, solutions and services, as well as meet with some of the top Avaya users around the world. We can’t wait for 2018!
