EXETER, RI – November 16, 2017 – NWN Carousel, a leader in communication and network technologies, professional and managed services, security, and cloud solutions, today announced that two of its leaders are recipients of the Tech10 Award for Technology Excellence. Rhode Island Monthly and Tech Collective partnered to recognize local individuals across ten categories. Deb Ricci, Director and Business Readiness Champion and Bobby Di Petrillo, Solutions Consultant, were the latest to receive Tech10 awards from Tech Collective in the Workforce Development Champion and Community Partner categories, respectively.

Ricci, a 14-year Carousel veteran, serves an important dual role for the company. As the Business Readiness Champion, she oversees the company’s workforce readiness initiatives and provides critically important training to IT staff on soft skills. Deb has spearheaded Carousel’s efforts to identify, recruit and train unemployed or underemployed workers and help them assimilate into new IT careers at Carousel. She has also played a key role at Carousel to help employees in a variety of roles adjust to organizational changes and evolve in their careers. Deb participates in the Tech Collective’s Mentorship Program to support women in technology.
Di Petrillo, a Solutions Consultant, works with clients to help them leverage technology solutions to transform, grow and run their businesses by navigating the changing technology landscape and developing solid partnerships with Carousel to design, implement and support relevant technology solutions.
The Community Partner award acknowledges Di Petrillo’ s work in enriching the IT community through positive actions, knowledge sharing and volunteer work. Di Petrillo is a self-described “tech tinkerer” who is fascinated by new technologies. He has actively worked with peers and generously led trainings, labs and other educational sessions, helped colleagues during system and applications installation, as well as provided pro bono consulting work in the community and spearheaded industry networking.
Tech Collective is Rhode Island’s industry association for Information Technology and Bioscience, with awards provided in partnership with Rhode Island Monthly. Tech10 distinguishes Rhode Island’s brightest entrepreneurs and IT practitioners, as well as showcasing organizations who are driving innovation and education. Ricci and Di Petrillo were honored on Thursday, November 16 at a ceremony at the Squantum Association in Providence.
