This week, meet Julie Holderby, service delivery manager out of sunny southern California. Julie has been with Carousel for more than eight years and she recently shared some of the technology she loves to discuss with clients and two of her favorite places in the world.

What do you enjoy most about your role at Carousel?

I really enjoy forming strong relationships with my clients. I also enjoy being part of their extended team, and being able to show the value of Carousel services by providing solutions to their issues. I enjoy supporting our technicians when they are onsite as it brings back fond memories of me being a field technician.

What technology or solution do you enjoy talking about the most?

I enjoy talking about Avaya technology because, as a former Avaya cable installer, software associate, and field technician, Avaya is the technology I grew up in. It is amazing to me to watch the technology evolve from tip and ring to being integrated with networks and now the cloud. It’s satisfying to see how it can further enable clients to achieve their business transformation goals.

Where is your favorite place in the world?

I actually have two favorite places. I love Italy and have been there four times. The Amalfi coast takes my breath away. The food, wine, people, culture and absolute beauty of the coast is why I love it and I can’t wait to go back. My second favorite place is my river house in Parker, Arizona—even when it’s 118 degrees outside! Floating in the water, boating, and just relaxing on the patio watching the people go by on the river relaxes me. The river is the place I go to relax and unwind.

What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?

I can give a presentation on photography and editing and I have been a wedding photographer for nine years. Photography is a passion of mine and I love to share my knowledge with others, helping them improve their technique and creativity. Photography has also helped me connect with clients on a more personal basis, which allows me to form stronger relationships with those that share in the same passion.

Who inspires you and why?

The person that inspires me the most is my colleague Helen Spence. As a former coach of mine, she has mentored me, believed in me, and pushed me to be the best I can be. I know I can always reach out to her for advice or lend an ear and listen. I know I would not be where I am today without the support she has given me over the years.
